Gas consumption in 2024 was higher than in 2023, but the amount paid was lower. More precisely, consumption amounted to 790 million cubic meters, the total value being over 10.6 billion lei. In 2023, the costs exceeded 14.7 billion lei for 657 million cubic meters of gas consumed, IPN reports, quoting a press release issued by Moldovagaz.

In 2024, consumption increased by almost 133 million cubic meters compared to the previous year, and the cost of gas supplied to end users decreased by 4.1 billion lei, given the revision of charges. The total payments as of December 31, 2024 for natural gas consumed between January and November 2024 amounted to 8.4 billion lei and covers 99% of the supplied volume.

According to Moldovagaz, 4,763 household consumers were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network in 2024. Their debts totaled 17.7 million lei. In the case of non-household consumers, the number of those disconnected was 357 units whose debts totaled 15.7 million lei.
