Numerous garbage cans, decorated with bright paper will be installed in the Great National Assembly Square for the winter holidays. Capital’s interim mayor, Vasile Ursu gave this order within the frameworks of a City Hall session on Monday December 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Ursu, downtown Chisinau will be full of waste bins but in order that they do not affect the holiday image “they should be wrapped in cellophane”. Moreover, the fence which is to be installed on the PMAN perimeter “should resemble to green”, according to the mayor. He adds that “those who deal with photos and prams” should be brought near the Country’s tree, also in conformity with the interim mayor’s order. Ursu solicited that the “Lumteh” State Enterprise verifies all the lights during Monday so that the holiday illumination would be in order at the moment when the tree will be lit. According to the interim chairman of the Cultural Department, Leonid Gorceac, the winter holidays will be launched in the afternoon of December 23. On the other hand, the interim chair of the Association of Green Spaces Management, Eliferie Haruta, reported that the Christmas tree which has already been mounted in the PMAN, in over 24 meter tall and it has been slightly damaged while transported. Besides, other 3 smaller Christmas trees will be installed, on each side of the central one, the source says. Haruta added that all those 7 trees have been purchased from the “Moldosilva” State Enterprise for 14,000 lei.
