The commune of Copceac/ Kıpçak in the Gagauz autonomy will host a Congress of the leaders of Turkic Peoples on August 27, the day Moldova celebrates Independence Day. The event will bring together representatives of over 30 Turkic peoples.
The highlights of the agenda include the rapprochement of Russia and Turkey following the meeting of the two nations’ presidents, and the failed August coup in Turkey. The participants are also expected to discuss the current situation in the places inhabited by Turkic peoples.
The Congress’s speakers include: the chair of the Congress Marlius Uulu Edil, the Gagauz Governor Irina Vlah, the chair of the Gagauz parliament Dmitri Constantinov, and Kıpçak Mayor Oleg Garizan, who is also the deputy chairperson of the Congress.
The event is organized by the Congress of Turkic Peoples and the Integration Center Pro-Eurasia, with the support of the Kıpçak Mayor’s Office and the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency TIKA.
The Congress will take place on Sovetskaya Street starting 9:00AM.
