Young persons from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia will be engaged in public debates over the democratic process in Moldova. The debates are organized by the Institute for Development and Social Initiative (IDIS) “Viitorul” as part of a civic education project with financial support from Friedrich Ebert Foundation. In Gagauzia, the debates will be held this autumn, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The young people need arguments in favor of Moldova’s democratization. They must themselves find such arguments and substantiate them. These debates will offer them the possibility of arguing in public and this will help them in the future,” project coordinator Ghenadie Mocanu said. The political leadership school of IDIS “Viitorul” has already prepared three classes of young leaders. IDIS “Viitorul” is a research, training and public initiative institution that works in such areas as economic analysis, government, political research, strategic planning and knowledge management.
