Gagauz Governor: I've never supported the totalitarian Communist regime from Moldova

The governor of the Gagauz autonomy has reiterated his support for the Centrist Union, rejecting he would be supporting the Communist totalitarian regime from Moldova. “I've never supported the totalitarian Communist regime from Moldova, neither have I been its advocate,” Mihail Formuzal told a news conference on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Formuzal, his public address was necessary since the electioneerers of the Communists Party (PCRM) would be spreading false information that the governor would be supporting the PCRM. Mihail Formuzal has also made predictions about the vote in Gagauzia. The right-wing parties will take about 20%, while the parties from the center and left will get the other 80% of the votes from Gagauzia, Formuzal said. In his opinion, those 20% of the votes to be gained by the right-wing parties are due to the enhancing participation of the leaders of those parties in TV debates in the area. “If no right-wing leader used to come to Gagauzia before, representatives of the Liberal Democrats and of the Moldova Noastra Alliance participated in debates, and Mr. Chirtoaca (Dorin Chirtoaca, the Liberal Party's deputy president – e.n.) came personally,” the Gagauz governor said. In Formuzal's opinion, some 55,000 voters will go to polls in the Gagauz area on April 5.
