The Executive Committee of Gagauzia will propose changes to a number of Moldovan legal acts that are in contradiction to the Law on the Special Legal Status of Gagauz Yeri. The information was published on the official website of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, IPN reports.

The legislative initiatives will be worked out by a number of departments of the Executive Committee. In particular, the head of the General Internal Affairs Division Serghei Suhodol and the head of the General Foreign Relations and Local Public Administration Division Piotr Zlatov will draft bills with amendments to the Law on the Police, the Law on Local Self-Administration Bodies and the Law on Local Public Finances.

The bills will be examined in one of the meetings of the Executive Committee. Afterward, they will be submitted to the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, which will then pass them on to Moldova’s Parliament as legislative initiatives.
