The local office of the State Chancellery in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia may stop work in the near future. The press service of the Governor of Gagauzia has told IPN that the duties of Moldova’s governmental bodies will be transmitted to the Foreign Relations and Local Public Authorities Division that was recently created in the executive committee of Gagauzia, IPN reports.

The executive committee and the presidium of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia in the near future intend to hold a joint meeting to examine the possibility of making amendments to the regional legislation, as regards the local office of the State Chancellery. After the amendments take effect, the institution subordinated to the Government of Moldova will no longer be represented in the autonomous region.
