The candidate for premiership Chiril Gaburici said he will be ready to appear before Parliament to ask for the MPs’ vote of confidence for the Cabinet and the government program in the evening of February 17 already. He said this after he had discussions with representatives of the Democratic Party (PDM) earlier today, IPN reports.
Chiril Gaburici said he will yet have one more discussion with all the candidates for the posts of ministers so as to agree the final composition of the Cabinet and its plan of action. “I also discussed with a large number of ambassadors. I stated my priorities for the immediate future. Keeping the pro-European direction and obeying all the agreements with the EU are among them,” he stated.
The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu said they discussed different subjects, including the necessity of stimulating the development of the private and entrepreneurial sectors and social aspects. “We also discussed the foreign policy and the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU and Mister Gaburici showed that he knows the situation. It was agreed that the Democratic faction will vote for the Government. We didn’t discuss the composition of the Cabinet. In the evening, Mister Gaburici will have a discussion with the candidates and a final decision will be taken afterward,” he stated.
The Parliament’s Standing Bureau is holding a meeting today. Most probably, the sitting where the Government is to be invested will take place on February 18, said Marian Lupu.
Chiril Gaburici was fielded for premiership by the Liberal Democratic Party and was nominated officially as a candidate by a presidential decree on February 14.
