Gaburici asked to provide information about his integrity

The representatives of civil society organizations, who Tuesday met with the candidate for premiership Chiril Gaburici, asked him to present information about his integrity and to comment on the press reports concerning the tapping of the phones of civic activists during the April 7, 2009 events, when he managed a mobile phone carrier, the secretary general of the National NGO Council Antonita Fonari, who is the deputy head of the National Participation Council, stated, quoted by IPN.

She said that not many proposals were formulated because there is no need to submit suggestions every time a candidate is nominated. Civil society asked Gaburici to explain the criteria for selecting the candidates for the posts of ministers.

After the meeting, Chiril Gaburici said the discussions with the representatives of civil society were constructive. “We discussed the existing problems and the possibilities of solving them, the justice sector reform and the European course. Many of the proposals were already included in the Government’s program for the next four years. The measures that are not contained in this program will be included in the plan of action. We agreed to meet regularly and to have discussions. They will become involved in solving different problems,” he stated.

In a sitting on February 17, Parliament is to give a vote of confidence to the Government.
