Romanian coach Gabi Stan signed for Division A club Ursidos Chisinau. He was announced on Thursday, April 28, by chairman Veaceslav Ursachi. Stan will join two other Romanians coaching in Moldova – Milsami Orhei’s Stefan Stoica and national team’s Gabi Balint. Although Ursidos are only 5th in the second tier, 7 points behind leaders Intersport-Aroma, the board is sure the club will be playing in the National Division next year. Gabi Stan looked optimistic as well. “I wish we could soon challenge Zimbru for the title, but it’s not realistic right now”, he said. Gabi Stan returns to Moldova after coaching Zimbru Chisinau in 2001-2002. That season, he won the Moldovan Cup, finished third in the league and eliminated Swedish outfit Goteborg from the UEFA Cup. The 58 year old coach’s last team was Romanian side Unirea Alba-Iulia.
