The future head of state must sign an agreement with the Liberal Party (PL) or with the whole Alliance for European Integration (AEI), the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said in the program “In Profunzime” on Pro TV channel on March 5, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Mihai Ghimpu, the PL will vote for the candidate who is ready to sign an agreement, whereby to accept that the ministers representing the Liberal Party will be dismissed not only at the suggestion of the Prime Minister, but also as a result of consultations with the Liberal parliamentary group. Ghimpu said that such an agreement may be signed with the entire AEI. ”The future head of state must bring peace into the alliance. The President will have to sign an agreement to maintain the alliance, not to satisfy the demands of one party of the AEI,” stated the Liberal leader. According to Mihai Ghimpu, besides candidate Veronica Bacalu, who was proposed by the PLDM and PDM, they discuss other candidates as well. “Missis Bacalu will become a candidate only when she comes to meet us. She must have meetings with all the parliamentary groups, including of the Communists,” he said. As to the other candidates examined within the alliance, Mihai Ghimpu said that the president of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase is a good candidate. “Alexandru Tanase is the best candidate, but who accepts him?” he asked. He also said that neither the PL, nor PLDM or PDM selects the candidates for the presidency. This is done by an unaffiliated person. Mihai Ghimpu announced that the date of the presidential elections may be fixed on March 7.
