Future MPs to be issued with permits Saturday
The MPs-to-be will receive their permits at a ceremony that will be held at the Government House on Saturday, April 25, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Central Election Commission (CEC).
According to the results of the April 5 elections, the Parliament of Moldova of the 17th legislature will be composed of 60 MPs representing the Communist Party of Moldova (PCRM), by 15 MPs from the Liberal Party (PL) and the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) and 11 MPs from the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN).
Among the most famous representatives of the PCRM that will enter the Parliament are: the outgoing President of Moldova and the president of the party Vladimir Voronin, the head of the previous Parliament Marian Lupu and Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanai.
The first persons on the PL list include the Mayor General of Chisinau and vice president of the party Dorin Chirtoaca, who earlier announced he will remain at the City Hall, the party’s president Mihai Ghimpu and the vice president Corina Fusu, who are both municipal councilors.
The PLDM president Vlad Filat and first vice presidents Alexandru Tanase and Mihai Godea are the first three of the 15 Liberal-Democratic MPs.
Serafim Urecheanu, the AMN president, and Veaceslav Untila, the party’s first vice president, will hold the MP seat for another four years. The president of the Writers’ Union of Moldova Mihai Cimpoi will also represent AMN in the future legislature.
Under the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the outgoing head of state must convoke the new Parliament for the first sitting within 30 days of the elections, i.e by May 5.
