Future director of Moldova 1 channel will have to showcase managerial skills
The Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova approved the regulations concerning the election of the director of the public TV channel Moldova 1. The Board’s chairman Eugeniu Rybka has told Info-Prim Neo that greater attention will be paid to the managerial skills of the candidates.
According to Eugeniu Rybka, the time allotted for listening to the plans on the development of the TV channel was increased from 7 to 10 minutes, while the time allotted for the Board members to put questions to the applicants – from 10 to 20 minutes.
“Other changes refer to the projects to develop and manage the television channel. We will lay emphasis on the knowledge of the internal documents and the development strategy for 2010-2015. This element was ignored by most of the candidates who took part in the previous contest. We will also focus on the method of implementing the documents concerning the institutional reform. The intention is to switch from a beauty contest and a contest of statements to a contest that places stress on candidates’ managerial skills,” stated Eugeniu Rybka.
A decision as regards the date of the contest will be taken on June 29.
The post of Moldova 1 director became vacant after Angela Sarbu left it in March. The contest held in May failed as none of the candidates won the necessary number of votes. One of the 12 candidates withdrew shortly before the voting. In the first and the second rounds of voting, two Supervisory Board members of the five attending voted for Vitalie Cojocari, a 28-year-old man working as a reporter at ProTV Bucuresti, while three members for Moldova 1 vice director Efim Josanu.
