Three Moldovan and four French actors encourage children from Moldovan orphanages to believe in themselves. Their campaign “Clowns without borders” will last till May 30, as the artists will perform free 15 plays. Actor of the National Mihai Eminescu Theater, Ghenadie Galca says the performances mirror the reality, as the funny clowns try to make sweeter the kids’ lives. Actually they try to make therapy through humor. Children from orphanages seldom have occasions to laugh, Ghenadie Galca told Info-Prim Neo. “To juggle and to perform funny plays, you don’t need extraordinary conditions. All we need is an outlet and chairs,” the actor said. The children’s joy to attend such performances is immense: we deduce from the loud applause ending each performance, said Dorina Climentovschi, the manager of an orphanage already visited by the clowns. Clowns have been staging such performances in Moldova since 2001.
