Funerary monument erected to Nicolae Sulac
Late folk music singer Nicolae Sulac has a funerary monument. It was unveiled at the artist’s grave situated in the Central Cemetery in Chisinau on September 9, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The ceremony started with a service in memory of the singer held by a group of priests. Afterward, Nicolae Sula’s relatives, friends and colleagues laid flowers at the monument.
The singer’s youngest daughter Doina Sulac said the building works lasted long because they could not find finances. “I’m glad that kindhearted people like Master Nicolae Botgros helped us. I also want to thank the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and the City Hall for lending a hand,” she said.
“The song at Nicolae Sulac’s grave is said. I think now the people who will pass by will sympathetically look at the monument and remember Nicolae Sulac,” said Nicolae Botgros.
Attending the event, Dorin Chirtoaca said the monument will make the candle of Master Sulac burn endlessly. He promised that similar monuments will be erected at the graves of singers Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, which are located nearby.
In order to build the monument, Nicolae Botgros conducted a fundraising campaign within which the admirers of Nicolae Sulac contributed money. The monument was erected at a cost of about 300,000 lei.
