The funeral signs located in public places in the municipality of Chisinau will be removed. The municipality drafted a decision to compel owners to remove the crosses or these will be taken away by force, IPN reports.
The draft decision that was proposed for public debates says the district head’s offices and other competent subdivisions within two months are to identify the persons who illegally placed funeral signs in public places. If the persons refuse to remove them, these will be taken away by force or the costs will be incurred by the district head’s offices.
The informative note says the decision was drafted following approaches made by the Congress of Local Authorities and other associations.
Under an order made by the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, the State Road Administration in the summer of 2017 removed over 3,000 funeral signs from national and local roads.
