Representatives of Adjuta Cives Association and of the Public Committee for Fighting Corruption held a press conference on Tuesday, September 25, to accuse the Ministry of the Interior and the Main Fiscal Inspectorate of failure to respond to tax evasion of millions of lei and other serious violations of the law allegedly commited by a funeral firm, Info-Prim Neo reports. Adjuta Cives chairman Andrei Luchian told the press that the organization’s headquarters was vandalized and put on fire after it revealed money laundering schemes used by individual enterprise “Gorzina Natalia”, which provides funeral services and monuments. “The law enforcement bodies must do their job and MAI must be aware of what the police officers are doing. We inform and notify the competent bodies to intervene in the fraudulent business run by Natalia Gorzina, but nobody answers us. CCCEC officers accepted our demand to check the lawfulness of Gorzina’s business and the results they obtained prove we were right. This enterprise doesn’t declare incomes of about 1 million lei yearly”, said Andrei Luchian. Alexandru Procop, coordinator of the Public Committee for Fighting Corruption, said that the law enforcement bodies knew about these issues, but didn’t take any measures. The neighbors who complain of the noise and dust from the building of monuments are threatened with death. The sector officers answer to the neighbors’ calls, but don’t do anything. Natalia Gorzina told Info-Prim Neo that these accusations are a result of a 3-year-long conflict based on unhealthy competition. “Since 2009, my company has been inspected 34 times. I don’t know if there is any other company in Chisinau that has been inspected this often. Luchian had the same business as mine, on the same address. Three years ago, because of some irregularities, his business was closed, while I’m going on with mine. He cannot accept it and holds these press conferences where he speaks about the so-called tax evasions”, said Natalia Gorzina.
