An event to raise funds for actor Mihai Volontir will take place at the Actor’s House in Chisinau on April 5. Actor Andrei Sochirca will present the monoplay “I want to be who I never was” by the verses of poet Eugen Cioclea. Thee will be also held a dinner titled “Unity through Kindness”, IPN reports.
The event starts at 7pm. It is an initiative of the cultural-artistic union “Vatra neamului” (“People’s Dwelling”) and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. An entrance ticket costs 250 lei. The proceeds will be donated to Mihai Volontir. Those attending can also donated money during the dinner.
According to Parascovia Ignat, executive director of “Vatra Neamului”, the event will be attended by the actor’s wife Eufrosinia Volontir. Mihai Volontir, who recently returned from a treatment visit from Moscow, will not take part in the event for health reasons. The actor’s state of health worsened after his return from Moscow.
”This man has done a lot for our culture. We want to be near the Volontir family now,” said Parascovia Ignat.
The dinner “Unity through Kindness” is the first of a series of cultural events held with the aim of raising funds for Moldovan artists. The project is implemented by “Vatra Neamului”. The next event, also in support of Mihai Volontir, was scheduled for May.
