Fundraising drive launched for children’s rehabilitation center
The Rehabilitation and Social Integration Center (CRIS) is launching a nationwide fundraising drive themed “The Ladybird Campaign” to restore a Chisinau-based rehabilitation center for children, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Under the slogan “Ten Lei for One Million Chances”, the CRIS volunteers intend to collect enough money to repair the building where care is provided to children and youths who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster, or have cancer or other various pathologies.
The center is located in a former kindergarten, which underwent some improvements, like the replacement of pipes and wires, and several windows.
“The Ladybird Campaign” is to start on Saturday, with a flash-mob that will be held by CRIS volunteers near the monument to Stephan the Great, starting at 15:00.
The organizers say they chose the theme of the ladybird for its symbolical meaning, its connection to Virgin Mary. “Do a good deed, give love and hope!”, that is what the organizers imagine a ladybird would say.
Greathearted people are invited to donate money at the Center’s address: Chisinau, 13/4 Miron Costin; or call 069494144.
