Fuel prices rise further

Fuels are getting more and more expensive. The forecasts formulated earlier by the National Agency for Energy Regulation will be felt from Friday, IPN reports.

Specifically, on Friday, January 3, the price of gasoline will 23.15 lei per liter, by 0.15 lei higher. Diesel fuel will be sold for 20.18 lei per liter, up 0.12 lei.

For the first half of 2025, the National Agency for Energy Regulation set the specific commercial margin for the retail sale of the main standard petroleum products at 3.24 lei/liter. This is by 0.06 lei/liter higher compared to the previous margin, which anticipates an increase in fuel prices.

Likewise, starting with January 1, fuel prices will gradually include the new excise duty rates stipulated in the Fiscal Code, which envision an increase of 578.16 lei per tonne for gasoline and of 243.28 lei per tonne of diesel fuel.
