Fuel prices may rise up by 80 bani
Fuel may become 80 bani more expensive. The largest petrol companies indicated in their notifications submitted to the National Energy Regulation Agency (ANRE) that they intend to increase petrol and diesel prices by 40-80 bani, reports Info-Prim Neo.
ANRE general director Victor Parlicov stated on Thursday, August 16, during a press statement, that according to the legislative framework, the companies have the right to modify their prices as early as three days after the submission of the notification. Although the notifications have been submitted a week ago, the price did not yet rise, most likely due to the competition.
Victor Parlicov mentioned that the Agency will ask for extra information from the companies if they take more than a month to introduce the notified price changes, since the market parameters may have changed by that time.
Although the notifications are only informative, they offer the ANRE an extra tool for monitoring the companies, so that they don’t overcome the 10% profitability rate stipulated by the legislation.
Importers say they want to increase the prices due to price increases on the international oil markets, as well as due to the depreciation of the Moldovan currency relative to the US dollar.
