Fuel importers confirm they will reduce – with 1.2-1.3 lei/l – the price for the diesel oil for farmers during harvesting. Instead, they ask the Government to change the methodology of calculating the prices and to reduce the excises and the Value Added Tax, Info-Prim Neo reports. The president of the Fuel Importers Union Importcompetrol, Valentin Bodistean, Thursday told a news conference changes must be brought to the Law on oil fuel products so as to allow not only importers but other companies to wholesale fuels too. He also suggests to step up introducing fiscal vacancies for fuel imports, as this is deemed to allow for stockpiling sufficient reserves. The farmers shall present certificates confirming their status in order to benefit of discounts. According to the Importcompetrol leader, the actual price of the diesel fuel is 14.5 lei/liter, while it will be sold to farmers against 14-14.4 lei. 15-20 thousand tonnes of fuel oil are necessary for the harvesting campaign in Moldova. Out of 20 licensed importers, only 12 are actually working.
