Fruit and vegetable processors, their current number standing at 9, are taking the first steps to set up an association which they called Conservproduct. Mihail Vladicescu, the chairman of the yet-to-be-registered Conservproduct, told a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry that the primary goal of the association is to enable a collaboration between the processors, both at pre- and post-selling stages. “We must have a cooperation ranging from quality standards to places for sales, so that we can orient ourselves. We understand very well that we must respect the interests of the producers of raw materials, because otherwise we could lose them”, Mihail Vladicescu told Info-Prim Neo. Each member of the association will have to pay a membership fee, whose amount hasn’t been determined yet. The association’s minimum budget proposed by its leadership is 150,000 a year.
