Frosty weather causes new victims
Three men with general hypothermia and one who suffered frostbite were rushed to the hospital on Tuesday evening.
Silvia Babara, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, told Info-Prim Neo that a 32-year-old man was discovered at about 17.00, an unidentified man in his 40s one hour later, while the third man aged 41, who was under the influence of alcohol, soon afterward. All the three persons sustained general hypothermia.
A homeless person aged 38 was taken to the hospital from the street with his legs frostbitten.
Two women aged 29 and 47 took pills in order to kill themselves. They were admitted to Saint Trinity Hospital and underwent lavage and other detoxification procedures.
Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Ambulance Service recorded 834 calls, dealing with 74 cases of acute viral infection, 21 cases of flu, 23 cases of pneumonia, 79 cases of trauma and five strokes.
