As from May 1, only the passengers with tickets, the personnel exercising their duties and aircraft crew members will have access to the Chisinau International Airport. The other citizens will wait outside the airport. The head of the General Border Police Inspectorate Ruslan Galusca told a press conference that the measure was imposed in order to ensure aviation security and avoid unpleasant situations that can occur at the airport, IPN reports.
The tickets will be checked by representatives of the airport’s administration. After the procedure, the passengers will continue the check-in and will present themselves for security and documents checks and will then wait to board in the sterile room. In order to streamline the flow of passengers, presentation at the airport is required at least three hours before the flight.
At the same time, in connection with the Easter holidays, when the flow of travelers is larger, the head of the Border Police urged the citizens to monitor the website of the Border Police and the institution’s pages in social media so as to avoid the crowdedness at border crossing points and the busiest periods of time.
