A 53-year-old man has been indicted for allegedly organizing the prostitution of seven girls in a sauna in Chisinau. The defendant invited the girls to perform sexual services in the sauna in the courtyard where he lived, IPN reports.
According to prosecutors, the illegalities took place from 2016 to 2021, and the clients of the sexual services were allegedly businessmen, sportsmen and people with criminal background.
During the investigation, lawmen established that the defendant was recruiting the victims, aged between 23 and 34, through various methods, including social networks. One of the victims was contacted personally after visiting the sauna as a client. Even though she initially refused, the defendant contacted her again at a time when she was in a dire financial situation and managed to convince her.
At the request of the prosecutors, the sauna worth 650 000 lei was seized with a view to possible confiscation for the benefit of the State after sentencing. According to the law, the man faces a prison sentence of 4 to 7 years.
