French architect proposes building ecological city in Chisinau
French architect Jean Michel Ruols presented a design of an ecological city in the form of three letters – NAU – to the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development. The design includes a church, a movie theater, a theater, architectonic elements with national specific features and a huge stage for performances of music on an area of 5,000 square meters, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry.
According to the architect, the design represents an integral ecological revolution, a first city of the kind in the world.
Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marcel Raducan welcomed the architect’s idea, saying such a city will attract tourists and will significantly contribute to the country’s economic development. He also said that it could be a design for 2011.
The architect said there are investors in France who are ready to construct the city in Chisinau, but they would like the Government of Moldova to contribute to the implementation of this project.
