French and German filmmakers make documentary about Moldovan village

A team of French and German filmmakers made a documentary film of one hour about a Moldovan village. The documentary is a portrait of Tataresti village of Straseni district and depicts its history from the beginning until present, co-producer Gheorghe Myrzenko has told IPN.

The authors present the charter of Petru Rares of 1529, which is the founding document of Tataresti. A separate part of the film is about the Russia-Soviet occupation of Bessarabia and the crimes committed by the occupation regimes in the village and the whole Bessarabia.

The pictures shown in the documentary are supported by accounts of villagers, eyewitnesses of the 1941-1945 war and the famine of 1946-1947, and by confirmations of historian Ion Varta and analyst Alecu Renita.

The soundtrack was edited by Valeriu Marza. The documentary will be premiered in Chisinau at the end of October.
