French Alliance hosts “Him Her Me You” art exhibition

“Him Her Me You” is the title of a group exhibition currently hosted by the French Alliance in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The displayed artworks are signed by the artist and university lecturer Veaceslav Fisticanu, and three of his disciples, plastic artists Angela Candu, Ghenadie Popescu and Vladimir Us, all of them members if the Association Oberliht. Different by form, expression, genre and colour, these over 30 pieces of art displayed here are combined under the same title, which is actually a generic one, says Veaceslav Fisticanu. What the pronouns in the title stand for is not just each of the four authors, but everybody who stops to watch their art, him, her, me, or you… Visiting the exhibition, painter Sergiu Cotofan said he was pleasantly surprised to find here a new side of Veaceslav Fisticanu’s creation – figurative art – whereas the non-objective one has been the painter’s favourite – a wonder world of oil paints skilfully transposed onto the canvas. Also here, Cotofan said, he was pleased to see new works by Angela Candu, who makes her non-objective paintings to look very brave, emotional and full of passion. Ghenadie Popescu displayed at this exhibition a series of picture-objects, which remind of skins stretched by stone-age people for drying. Sergiu Cotofan says that although Ghenadie Popescu has a strong predilection for objects and fixtures, he is also a very talented painter, with a remarkable sense of colour. Vladimir Us, who is actually the chairman of the Association Oberliht, is one of the few young artists in Moldova that have mastered the difficult genre of the conceptual painting. The Association of Young Artists of Moldova “Oberliht” was founded in July 2000. The Oberliht group is represented partially by the most talented young artists who regularly take part in national and international group and personal exhibitions, recording diplomas and prizes for their works. Through its projects, Oberliht has promoted a big number of artists from Moldova and abroad, reconfirming its status of a professional organisation. Oberliht promotes creative and theoretical thinking through exhibitions and projects, on the one hand, and conferences, round tables, symposiums and workshops, on the other.
