Free movement is a priority of 5+2 Lvov talks
The free movement will be one of the main subjects for discussion in the next round of the talks in the 5+2 format that will take place in Lvov in February. After a meeting with the political representative of Tiraspol Nina Shtanski, Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Muhametshin said that a document on the free movement of people and goods was prepared for the talks. The document may be signed in February, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Transnistrian press.
Farit Muhametshin said that the mediators in the talks are ready to provide assistance in the negotiation process. “We must sign the protocol in February,” said the ambassador.
Nina Shtanski said that the document, which is a complex one, refers to three aspects. The first aspect is the transportation of the goods of the Transnistrian economic entities. The second concerns the movement of the citizens of Russia and Ukraine, who, according to Nina Shtanski, meet difficulties in crossing the Moldovan border. “The opening of the bridge near Gura-Bacului is problematic. This is an important transport corridor, which Transnistria is ready to open, on condition that the Transnistrian citizens and economic entities are allowed to move freely,” stated the Transnistrian official.
The Transnistrian press reported that in the meetings of the group of experts in charge of transport, Tiraspol and Chisinau managed to make significant progress in coordinating the neutral design of the license number of Transnistrian vehicles that will be involved in international transportation of passengers and goods, and in designing the mechanism for creating a common database for these vehicles.
