Free emergency dental care for health policy holders

The medically insured persons benefit from emergency dental care free of charge, no matter how many times they need it during the year. IPN asked for details from the National Health Insurance Company given that many people believe the health policy does not cover the dental services.

The National Health Insurance Company said emergency dental medical assistance is provided when the person goes to the policlinics, dental offices and district and municipal stomatological centers contracted by the Company.

The dental services within specialized ambulatory medical assistance include emergency dental care in different cases, from acute pulpitis to traumas and fractures of jaws, tooth extraction at medical recommendations and prophylactic consultation for children younger than 18 and pregnant women. The gratis services also include the examination of the mouth, brushing, use of prophylactic remedies, stopping up of fissures, etc.
