France closes borders to most of travellers from outside EU

As from January 31, France closes its borders to most of the travelers coming from outside EU member states as an additional precautionary measure in the fight against COVID-19, IPN reports, quoting europafm.ro.

As the restrictions imposed until now didn’t lead to a decline in the number of new cases of COVID-19, the Prime Minister of France Jean Castex announced that the access of foreigners from non-EU member states is banned, except for essential trips.

The large shopping centers are being closed, while schools remain closed in France.

As earlier, those who want to enter France need to present a negative result of the PCR test.

During the last few days, Paris has announced a major rise in the number of deaths from COVID-19. Over half of those who died are older people from shelters.
