Framework regulations on academic mobility approved

The Government endorsed the framework regulations on academic mobility in higher education. Until now, this process was regulated by a normative document approved by the Board of the Ministry of Education, IPN reports.

Minister of Education Maia Sandu said that academic mobility favors the participation in building the European Higher Education Area. By academic mobility, they promote the quality of studies and professional training, international cooperation and synergy between education and research, ensuring thus the creation of a knowledge-based society.

The Ministry of Education signed 60 international treaties in education, seven of which in 2013. Over the last few years, the academic mobility programs involved about 6,000 Moldovan young people.

In the same meeting, the Government approved three agreements on international cooperation in education, research and recognition of diplomas with Lithuania and Spain.
