The local administration of Slobozia intends to request the Transnistrian administration to lift the ban on fox hunting as the fox population now poses threats not only to animals, but also to humans, IPN reports, quoting the local press.
Vasili Tischenko, head of the local administration in Slobozia, said they will ask allowing hunting for foxes throughout the year, not only during the hunting season as the animals have significantly increased in number.
Locals complain that the foxes, who are rabies carriers, can attack dogs and other domestic animals and the humans can be thus also infected.
