This year’s edition of the Olympic EcoFest will take place in the Park “Valea Morilor” in Chisinau on September 29. The European Week of Sport is held in the period for the first time in Moldova, IPN reports.

“I called on the federations and sports clubs to stage more sports events in the period. The week will end with EcoFest, which is a holiday of sport,” secretary of state on sport at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Radu Rebeja stated in a news conference.

The organizers of Olympic EcoFest aim to ecologically educate the citizens of Chisinau and to promote sport and education concerning the environment, underlining the sport organizations’ commitment to solve the environmental problems.

Traditionally, Olympic EcoFest involves a number of federations. “The competition becomes better and better. I will eagerly take part this year too,” said world youth champion Oleg Nuța. The Olympic EcoFest consists of the traditional running race and the Federation of School Sport will stage different competitions in the sports town near the beach.
