A girl aged four died when her younger brother started a car parked in front of the gate of their home, hitting her and crushing her against a truck parked in front. It happened in Peresecina village of Orhei district on May 29.

The police established that the two children were playing. The two-year-old boy got onto the car left without supervision with the key on, striking accidentally his sister. As a result of the impact, the girl died on the spot. Press officer of the Orhei Police Inspectorate Diana Maxim has told IPN that a criminal case was started to establish all the circumstances of this case and to decide if someone will be held accountable.

Specialists warn it is very important not to leave the small children unsupervised even for short periods of time. The adults should never leave the keys on in the car, especially if there are children nearby.
