A boy aged four suffered burns and poisoning after his mother mixed up a degreaser with a medicine and gave him this to drink. It happened in the Transnistrian region, IPN reports.

The de facto ministry of interior in Tiraspol said the 33-year-old woman intended to given the child a medicine, but took a similar recipient into which she earlier poured degreaser and forgot about this. She didn’t make sure it was safe and gave the boy to drink from the bottle.

The woman immediately realized what she did and called an ambulance. The child is now in intensive care in a serious but stable state.

Specialists warn to keep the medicines and chemical substances separately, in places that are not within children’s reach.
