The General Public Transport and Communications Division of Chisinau plans to rehabilitate about 20 km of road. Four streets – 31 august, Alexandru cel Bun, Tighina and Ion Creanga – are to be extensively repaired. There will also be repaired bypassing streets intended for large trucks. The measures are stipulated in the plan for easing road traffic in Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
The Division’s acting head Vitalie Butucel, in the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services on December 4, said the streets 31 august, Alexandru cel Bun and Tighina will be repaired with money provided by the EBRD. An estimated €10 million is needed for the purpose. Ion Creanga St will be repaired with municipal funds, at cost of about 35 million lei.
Among the bypassing streets that will be repaired are Bucovina, Nicolae Milescu-Spataru, Transnistria, Industriala, and Bacioii Noi. There will also be reconstructed the Ismail – Calea Mosilor – Calea Basarabiei – Vadul lui Voda route. Rotaries will be built at the intersection of the streets Calea Orheiului – Studentilor – Socoleni and Stefan cel Mare si Sfant – Ion Creanga – Calea Iesilor. The costs were estimated at 55 million lei.
