Four organizations that provide social services in Moldova received new units of transport purchased with the support of the European Union and Soros Foundation Moldova. Attending the handover event, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu welcomed the implementation of this project through which the development of 40 new social services in Moldova is stimulated. “It is an important project from which we inspire ourselves, including within the social assistance reform. We speak about those services that will be included in the main package of services and that we will make effort to extend uniformly and in an appropriate way all over the Republic of Moldova. We want to have better, accessible social services centered on the needs of beneficiaries, an intervention framework that can efficiently fight child poverty, the marginalization of persons with disabilities,” stated Alexei Buzu.

The availability and sustainability of these social services mean additional chances for an accomplished life in the community. I want to reassure cull society that provides social services for vulnerable persons of our continuous support and gratitude,” stated the diplomat.
Soros Moldova Foundation executive director Petru Culeac said the goal of this donation is to increase the number of vulnerable persons who will have access to high-quality social services, while civil society and the authorities should efficiently cooperate. Soros Foundation Moldova, together with the European Union, supports the 40 organizations that develop social services all over the country so that the social services reach all those who need assistance.
“The partnerships we have with civil society organizations help us to overcome difficult situations in the social sphere. The optimization of social services will improve the quality of life and will ensure the social inclusion of families where there are persons with disabilities,” stated Tatiana Aramă, deputy head of Cimișlia district.
Anastasia Rusu, manager of the public association “Cimișlienii de pretutindeni”, said the mobile team from Cimișlia will offer free, high-quality rehabilitation and maintenance services for approximately 25 families with severe disabilities. This way, these families will have access to high-quality social services.
The mobile teams consist of logopedists, kinetotherapists, social assistants and psychologists who travel to the homes of grownups and children with disabilities to offer them the necessary assistance according to an individual plan.
