Four shots were fired at peacekeeping post on January 1
Four gunshots were fired in the morning of January 1 at the trilateral peacekeeping posts No. 9 situated near Vadul lui Voda, where a young man from Pirita was shot mortally, Prime Minister Vlad Filat told the press.
Ion Cuvshinov, head of the Legal Medicine Center, has told Info-Prim Neo that the information about the gunshot wounds on the body of the victim cannot be made public as the inquiry may be affected.
The Prosecutor’s Office also invoked the secrecy of the investigation. The head of the institution’s press office Maria Vieru informed that a number of examinations were performed and the investigation goes on. She said that no other details can be made known.
According to Pirita residents, eyewitnesses said two shots were taken at the young man, from two different directions. The body of the man hasn’t been taken home yet. Vadim Pisari is to be buried on Wednesday.
The tragedy happened in the morning of January 1. The young man was driving a car, heading for Pirita. There was one passenger in the car. At the trilateral peacekeeping post No. 9, the driver ignored the peacekeepers’ request to stop and displaced the concrete barrier and the traffic sign “Stop”. According to official reports, the post’s chief fired several shots in the air and then at the car. A bullet penetrated the young man’s back. He died at the Chisinau Emergency Hospital several hours after the incident.
