Four persons were admitted to the hospital in Ungheni in the afternoon of November 24 after they were hit by a bus running on the Soroca – Ungheni route at the Ungheni bus station.

Press officer of the Ungheni and Nisporeni Police Inspectorate Lilia Kovaliov has told IPN that the driver started the engine without warming this up and the bus set off suddenly, striking several persons who were nearby. The circumstances of the accident are yet to be determined. It is not known if the driver was on the bus when this started to move.

Andrian Cotea, doctor on guard at the Intensive Care Section, said a woman suffered a spinal and thoracic contusion, while a man suffered a closed thoracic trauma and rib and arm fractures. “Their state is serious, but stable. They will recover,” stated the doctor.

The third person hurt was admitted to the Surgery Section, while the fourth to the Traumatology Section, with less serious injuries.
