Four members of a criminal group arrested a year ago were sentenced to seven and 20 years in jail for drug distribution, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, the criminal activity was organized and managed by a man held in the penitentiary in Taraclia town, where he serves sentences for committing two murders. The other members ensured the transportation and sale of the heroine on the country’s territory.
The members of the group, aged between 30 and 50, were caught when they received drugs hidden in a parcel sent from Turkey.
The sentence can be yet appealed to a higher court.
