Two fatal traffic accidents occurred this morning, killing two people and injuring four others.

At around 6:00am the police were alerted about an accident near Gotesti village in Cantemir district. Police spokesperson Sabina Cojusnean told IPN that a car driven by a man ran off the road and hit violently a tree. The impact was fatal for the driver and two passengers were hospitalized.

The victims were from another Cantemir village, Tiganca. Local authorities say traffic accidents on that portion of the road are not something uncommon.

Another accident occurred near 8:00 in Balti, where a head-on collision between two cars caused the death of one person and landed to others in hospital. The circumstances are investigated.

Motorists are advised to be cautious when driving in unstable weather with reduced visibility, adapt the speeds to the road conditions and turn on the fog lamps.
