Four political parties in Moldova could be dissolved. These are the Working People Party led by Sergei Toma, the Party "United Moldova – Eдиная Молдова" led by Vladimir Turcan, the Conservative Party led by Natalia Nirca, and the Party of Regions of Moldova headed by Alexander Kalinin. The Central Election Commission made relevant approaches to the Ministry of Justice, IPN reports.

The Commission earlier asked the Ministry of Justice to limit the activities of the four parties and the given request was accepted, including by court decisions. The reason for such a request was the failure to submit the financial management reports for the first half of 2024, as well as for 2023, through the "Financial Control" Information System.

"Under legal framework, if, during the period of limitation of the political party's activity, the actions for which the party's activity was limited are repeated or if, during the first year from the date of the last limitation of the party's activity, it commits similar violations, the Ministry of Justice will ask the court to dissolve the party," noted the CEC.

Similar conclusions were reached in the case of the New Historical Option Party. It also repeatedly did not comply with financial discipline during a calendar year. However, the Commission cannot now ask the court, through the Ministry of Justice, to dissolve the party given the absence of a final decision by the Centru Court of Appeals on the first request to limit the activity of the political party.

The CEC also requested the Ministry of Justice to limit, for a period of six months, the activity of the Party of Socialists of Moldova and the Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova.

These two parties did not submit the financial management reports for the first half of 2024 and for the second half of 2024, i.e. for two consecutive periods. In accordance with the legal provisions, the party's activity can be limited if it did not submit the financial management report within the term and format set by the CEC.
