President Maia Sandu signed the decrees appointing four new ambassadors. These are Emil Druc, Ambassador to Lithuania; Sergiu Odainic, Ambassador to Canada; Liliana Guțan, Ambassador to Sweden; and Iulian Grigoriță, Ambassador to the State of Qatar, reports IPN.
With 30 years of diplomatic experience under his belt, Emil Druc is the outgoing Ambassador to Canada. Previously, he worked with Moldova’s diplomatic missions in France, Sweden and Belgium.
Sergiu Odainic is also a career diplomat, in the diplomatic rank of minister-counselor. He has been an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration for almost 20 years, and currently holds the position of interim general secretary of the Ministry. Previously, he worked in the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova in the United States and the Czech Republic.
Liliana Guțan has an experience of 15 years within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. She is currently head of department at the Ministry and previously worked in Moldova’s diplomatic missions in the United States and Greece.
Iulian Grigoriță has 24 years of experience in diplomacy and international relations. He holds the diplomatic rank of minister-plenipotentiary, and is currently head of department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. He previously worked in the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova in Brussels and in Germany, he was also a presidential advisor for foreign policy and European integration.
