Four localities remain disconnected from power supply

Four localities in the districts of Glodeni and Orhei are still disconnected from the power supply following the torrential rain of the evening of June 28. There was rain with hail in the villages of Calmatui, Bujor, Fundul Galbenei and Horasti of Hancesti district.

Contacted by IPN, head of the Hancesti Emergencies Division Corneliu Esanu said reports about damage caused to crops at the local level have come, but the information is being updated. The roof of the mayor’s office in Pervomaisc was 70% damaged. The roofs of three private houses were partially destroyed. In a number of villages in the district, the cellars and basements of houses were flooded. The commission for emergencies is gauging the extent of the damage at the scene.

The hail affected crops in Horesti and Tipala villages of Anenii Noi district. In Filipeni village of Leova district, the heavy rain destroyed four hectares of vineyards.

In Chisinau, the rescuers and firemen helped tow away a passenger minibus that got stuck at the intersection of the streets Albisoara and Ismail in the evening of June 28. The passengers were evacuated safely. The rescuers were also called out in Hrusova village of Criuleni district where a tree fell onto the roadway.

Water was pumped from sections of the streets Uzinelor, Stefan cel Mare, Bacioii Noi and Gherman Pantea and out of private house yards and basements.
