The localities of Coșnița, Pohrebea, Doroțcaia and Pîrîta in Dubăsari district, which are under the constitutional control of the Moldovan authorities, are currently supplied with gas, announced Roman Roșca, who heads the Parliament’s special commission for parliamentary monitoring and control on the implementation of the reintegration policy. He noted that this was possible even though the four localities are connected to the energy infrastructure of the left bank of the Nistru, IPN reports.
According to the parliamentarian, such a solution could be implemented because the residents of Coșnița, Pohrebea, Doroțcaia and Pîrîta pay their bills to Moldovagaz. Roman Rosca also explained that deliveries will be possible as long as there is enough pressure in the energy infrastructure pipes of the left bank of the Nistru.
Roman Roșca said the National Commission for Emergency Situations is taking a series of actions to support the localities in the Security Zone, which are under constitutional control.
Gas supplies to the Transnistrian region were stopped on January 1 by the decision of the Russian company Gazprom, which invoked the non-payment of a debt of US$709 million, an amount that is not confirmed by Chisinau. The Moldovan administration accused the Kremlin of energy blackmail.
As a result, the work of hundreds of enterprises in the region was put on hold. The administrative, educational and housing institutions were disconnected from the heat supply. Gas continues to be supplied to apartment buildings so that the people can prepare food.
