Four persons died Saturday, October 20 in a car accident that shocked an entire village and left an ugly scar in the lives of a just married young couple.
Info-Prim Neo learned from Chisinau Traffic Police Inspector Ion Roscovanu that the stupid accident, caused by one of the guests of the wedding party, occurred in Siret village, Sraseni district. The couple decided to go to Chisinau to lay flowers and take pictures at the monument to Stefan the Great. While travelling in a four-car convoy, a 24-year-old man driving a Nissan-Primera tried to take the lead of the convoy and sped up, but lost control over the vehicle and ran into a tree at about 100 km/h.
The collision was fatal for the driver, his 22-year-old brother, a young woman aged 21, and a 7-year-old boy. The fifth passenger was badly wounded and was driven to the Emergency Hospital.
The tragedy strongly affected the bride, who, suffering a nervous breakdown, tore off her wedding dress and started running towards the Ghidichici Lake.
The traffic police officers asked the Emergencies Department for help to cut the victims out of the wreckage.
