Four killed in 15 fires during one day

The 15 fires that happened in Moldova on January 29 resulted in four deaths, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Liliana Puscasu, an 81-year-old woman died in a fire in Chisinau. Most probably, the woman did not respect the rules of using open fire. A fire in Cimislia district caused the death of a man aged 55, while another one in Heciul Vechi, Singerei – of two brothers of 60 and 74. According to preliminary investigations, the second fire was caused by a heater. Given the low temperatures, the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service will step up its activities from January 30. The number of groups that will intervene in fires and emergencies will be doubled. Visits may be paid to apartment buildings to provide the people with relevant information. Liliana Puscasu said the number of fires has increased compared with the corresponding period last year. Twenty persons were killed in the 199 fires that occurred so far this year. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the people to obey the anti-fire rules and to keep the elderly persons and children under supervision as they are more vulnerable in cases of fire.
