President Nicolae Timofti handed over state awards to a group of foreign affairs ministers of EU member states, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the presidential press service, the Order of Honor was given to Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajcak, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevicius, and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
The awards were conferred in gratitude for substantial contribution to the European integration of Moldova within the European bodies and for special merits in developing and strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between officials’ countries and Moldova.
